This beautifully illustrated fairy story is ideal for girls aged from 5 to 7. Young black girls will like seeing a girl who looks like them on the front cover. Well, not exactly like them as Bekki the Fairy is having a wardrobe malfunction today.

Bekki cannot understand it. Why is her fairy costume such a mess? And who has been doing naughty spells around the house? This preschool fairy book uses fabulous photos to show how Bekki has been having fun doing magic on all her family. Can the Head Fairy persuade Bekki to mend her mischievous ways?

A delightful book where Bekki has to learn to use her magical powers constructively. Humorous and beautifully illustrated.

A Fairy in the Family An empowering fairy story for girls of African descent aged 5 to 7 edition by Avril O'Reilly Children eBooks Reviews

I stared up with reading the second book first and thought it was so beautiful put together so I wanted to get A Fairy in the Family too and I wasn’t disappointed. The illustrations are excellent and very much part of the story. I read it first by myself and then shared it with my neighbors two little girls and they were thrilled with the story and we shared many laughs at the mistakes Bekki made. The girls also loved the cover of the pretty little fairy.
The kids loved this book. My daughter(2) enjoyed the beautiful photographs while my son (4) loved repeating the head fairy's catchphrase. Would like more books of this type as it allows the adult reader to cater for the tastes of an early school goer and a pre-schooler!
I bought this on a friends' recommendation and my 6 yr old loves it!!!
It's super colourful and sparkly and the unintentionally naughty spells make her laugh.
I find it a witty book and the contrasting naughty and nice fairy outfits are great!

It also makes a change from the typical blonde blue eyed fairies everywhere.

A lovely, lovely book.
A fairy in the family is a sweet and beautiful book depicting a gorgeous little fairy. The fairy learns how to use her gift to help rather than hinder her family members...well, almost. The pictures are beautiful and very appealing. Overall, this book is highly recommended.

A friend introduced me to `A Fairy in the Family' so I read it to my three year old boy who loved it. It's full of fun photographs and magic, which he adored. Becky the family fairy can do magic and gets into a spot of trouble when this mischievous little fairy casts some naughty spells on her family. Luckily these tricks were nothing that a trip to the head fairy couldn't fix.

I thought it was a very entertaining colourful book, which had all the right elements to hold the attention of any young child. I would definitely recommend it, I'm just disappointed it has not been made into a children's TV programme which I'm sure my son would enjoy....
Such a beautifully compiled book with a fun little story! My little girls want to hear it again and again!
Oh, my gosh! Will Bekki ever learn? I was laughing out loud as I read the book to myself the first time! Then I started sharing it with all my friends with kids and grandkids! This delightful book has a wonderful story accompanied by fun photo-images that totally get the children involved. The predicament Bekki finds herself in isn't quite understood by her until the Head Fairy patiently and repeatedly works with Bekki. Well, excuuuse me! Bekki, Bekki, Bekki! Hopefully the young readers learn the lesson much faster than Bekki does! This is truly a delicious book! The colors and storyline keep everybody entirely engaged and laughing! Enjoy!
A delightful book where Bekki has to learn to use her magical powers constructively. Humorous and beautifully illustrated.
